Bethel of Mound
Bethel is an established church of the United Methodist denomination with over a 130-year history of praising God and serving others. We are located on the west edge of Lake Minnetonka, with the church itself nestled in the heart of the community. The area is an eclectic blend of the well-to-do lake-dwellers, alongside those of more modest means.
Bethel’s worship attendance currently comes in around 65 per weekend, but Bethel is actively taking steps to increase that number. Our outreach efforts are focused not only on the needs and lifestyles of families with young children, but also on the spiritual needs of couples who are nearing retirement. The church has a vision of doubling the number of worshipers within five years, and is actively taking steps in that direction.
This is a church that serves in many ways, caring for those within the church family, in the greater Mound community, and beyond. "Feeding our neighbors around the block and around the world" is a dominant passion of many who call Bethel their home. The Missions Team coordinates many opportunities to make a difference in the world, including things like serving at WeCAN, managing the Grow Gardens, preparing meals for homeless at the Simpson Shelter of Minneapolis, packing food twice monthly with Feed My Starving Children, and more. All are welcome to join Bethel in these life-giving efforts.
