Position Available - Communications/Office Manager
Do you have a passion for combining your faith with your communication and administrative talents? Bethel United Methodist Church located in Mound, MN is looking for a part time (12 hours per week) Office Manager. As the Office Manager you will be responsible for the administrative matters of the church under the guidance and supervision of the Pastor.
Combining strategic communication management with administrative office oversight, focusing on internal and external messaging, brand consistency, and media relations, while also managing daily office operations like supplies, vendor relationships, and staff communication.
Key duties include developing communication strategies, crafting promotional materials, managing digital presence, content creation, coordinating events, overseeing office functions, and ensuring the efficient flow of information within the organization and with external stakeholders.

Duties:

Provide clerical and administrative support to pastors and staff, including but not limited to preparing and printing documents, preparing mailings, emailing members, and supporting Bethel Leadership Board.

Provide administrative support to the finance team.

Content Creation

Answer phone calls, respond to voice messages, respond to website inquiries, and greet guests.

Manage the church calendar and schedule the use of church facilities and virtual meetings.

Maintain the church’s online database system with current member and visitor information and run reports as requested.

Maintain church digital sign.

Perform general content management and design application on the Bethel website and Facebook.

Work with Pastor to create visual and promotional style.

Order flowers for weekly worship services, holidays, special events, etc.

Record meeting minutes at staff meetings and make them available to all staff.

Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with organizational goals, covering internal and external messaging, brand consistency, and public image.

Oversee the production of communication materials, such as press releases, newsletters, website content, social media posts, and marketing collateral.

Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, build relationships with journalists, and secure favorable media coverage for the organization.

Manage and maintain the organization's website and social media platforms to engage audiences and amplify key messages.

Collaborate with staff and volunteers to prepare information for the Minnesota Annual Conference yearly report.

Prepare and mail bereavement letters.

Order office supplies, materials and equipment as needed and ensure mail is distributed and processed appropriately.

Serve as the liaison for specific Church business matters within the community.

Coordinate building use and key distribution.

Arrange various tasks such as piano tuning, elevator inspection, etc.

Work with staff to provide administrative support for membership needs, baptisms, weddings, and funerals.

Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in office management.

Computer competence with Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, web browsers, and Canva.

Background or familiarity in working with information systems to collect and report data.

Demonstrated ability to adapt writing style as appropriate to intended communication product.

Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team structure.

Position Type:
Part-time 12 hours/week
Compensation:
Depends on Experience (DOE)- up to $25/hr.
